Bestest Garlic Prawns

Serves: 4


  • 750 g prawns raw – deveined and deshelled
  • 6 garlic clove large
  • 3 cup Chicken Style Liquid Stock
  • 3 tbs white wine
  • 170 g butter
  • 1 + 1/2 Tbs plain flour
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 3/4 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tbs parsley chopped fresh


  1. Heat butter and crushed garlic in a saucepan, then add the flour and stir until combined. Remove from heat.
  2. Gradually add chicken stock, cream and wine and stir until combined.
  3. Return pan to the heat and stir until the sauce thickens and boils, add mustard and season with salt and pepper. – It takes a while to thicken, but it is up to you how thick you want it
  4. Bring the sauce to the boil and add the prawns. Cook for 5 minutes or until the prawns are cooked. – you can do it for a few mins longer, just watch out to not overcook the prawns. it turn pink when it is done
  5. Add the parsley and stir until combined.
