Jee’s Curry Powder

This recipe was given to me on our desexing rotation at Lost Dogs Home by our Sri Lankan surgeon, Jee. I haven’t tried it yet, but everything he has made us has been absolutely amazing so I’ll trust that this will be great too.


  • 5-6 cardamom seeds
  • 1-2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 sprigs of fresh curry leaves
  • 5 fenugreek seeds
  • 5-6 cloves
  • 50g cumin seed
  • 30g coriander seed
  • 10g fennel seed


  1. Dry toast the cardamom seeds, cinnamon sticks, curry leaves, fenugreek seeds and cloves on a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seed, coriander seed, and fennel seed into the pan and toast together. Turn off the heat when curry leaves are dry.
  3. Turn off heat and grind everything together into a powder.
